A rough test of true anamorphic widescreen (2.39:1) in 1920x1080 HD (recorded at 1440x1080). The test involved using the Century Optics 16:9 Aspect Ratio Converter on a 28mm and a 50mm lens mounted to a Brevis 35 system. The camera as the tiny little HV20. I'm sick of cropping in post, and I have a fondness of anamorphic lens flares, which the Century adapter provides more than adequately. Again, this was just a test to see the flaring and distortion of the adapter, as well as test the mounting of the adapter. An actual project using this technique will begin shooting soon.
